Every Friday on the main feed

The Dig.

A weekly episode where Michael and John dig up old capsules, interact with listeners, and dig around in that week's My Time Capsule. Free for everyone, every Friday.

What is The Dig?

Every Friday, Michael and his producer and son John sit down together for a dig around in that week's My Time Capsule, dig up old capsules (sometimes with the original guest who buried it) and interact with listeners via email and voice memos. It's a conversation, a recap and a community call-in show all in one — and unlike the old bonus episode "The Debrief", The Dig goes out free on the main feed for everyone to enjoy.

01

Listener emails

We read out your messages, your memories and your own capsule picks — send them in and you might hear yourself on the show.

02

Revisiting old guests

Past guests come back to dig up their old time capsule and see what's stood the test of time, and what they'd change.

03

Burying the week

We bury the five things from that week's episode, sealing them up for the capsule — and then talk about what it all meant.

04

Your voice on the show

Record a voice note below and we might play it on air — your question, your one to keep, your one to bury.

Get involved

Send us your questions, your own two time capsule choices (one to keep, one to bury), or record a voice memo for Michael and John to play on the show.

Write to The Dig

Ask Michael and John anything, send in a listener email, or give us your two choices — one to keep forever, one to bury and never think about again.

Record a voice memo

Hit record below, say your piece, then send it over. Keep it under 90 seconds. Works on iPhone, Android, and every modern browser — you'll be asked to allow microphone access.

Please note: by recording and sending a voice memo, you give My Time Capsule permission to play your recording on The Dig and in associated promotional material. We won't share your contact details. If you change your mind, email us and we'll remove it.
